The actual meaning of ‘You’re not alone’.

Last week I had a panic attack at office. I was trying for a transfer that took a lot of my time and nothing came out of it. An old friend called me and told me to let everything go and focus on the present. And also the phrase I quoted.

I suddenly realized that the meaning we believe it to have is completely different. When someone tells you, you’re not alone, you think he means he’s not going to leave you by yourself when the crisis comes.

What it actually means is there is always at least one person that has gone through the exact situation and survived. Always one person who had the strength to get through it. And that is the same reason you should have faith in yourself.

Every time you are stuck somewhere, keep in mind someone survived this and you can too. You’re never alone. You never will be.
